Paranormal InvestigatorParanormal Investigator 2006/03/26 TrainingHello readers,
I've not posted here for a while so I have lots to talk about. Firstly the kitten, he is doing much better and is over the worst. The sad thing is, he will always have the sniffles since contracting cat flu and he may spend the rest of his life taking ant-biotics. However, despite his bad start in life he is doing fine now and is just like any other kitten his age, into everything and trying out his freshly sharpened claws on our new sofa. He has an adorable sweet little boys nature, he can be so loving when he comes up to you and now that he has discovered his voice box, he likes to meow a lot in chatter.
Ok now for something different. Today (Sunday 26th March) I began my first training programme for a run that I wish to particiate in September (the Godiva Half Marathon in Coventry). I have never done any running before but am adamant that I want to do this. A friend has kindly offered to help out by drawing up a training programme that will build me up gradually. Today it was a 15 minute run at intervals of 1 minute run and 1 minute walk. I completed the full 15 minutes but oh boy did I find out how unfit I really am. I gave up smoking 1 year ago and my lungs are still recovering but the 15 minute run certainly showed how badly affected my lungs had become. I have a day off tomorrow from running but as part of the training programme, I am to do 15 minutes of stretching and then more running on Tuesday. I am sooooooo looking forward to completing this successfully and feeling a sense of achievement. I will keep you all updated as to my progress !!!!
Until then, stay tuned :) 2006/02/24 KittenHi all, well today the kitten had to go back to the vets. His cold has gone to his chest making him cough a lot especially wheb he tries to be active and play. The vet says that he now has a chronic chest infection which has led to pneumonia. The kitten is yet again taking another course of antibiotics. He is a strong little fellow and is eating well so we are not going to give up on him yet, he has a good chance of pulling through this although he may be left with a running nose permanently or a possible cough , it depends on the damage that the cat flu has done to his respiratory system. We have to take him back to the vets for a review in a weeks time. Will give you another update after the visit to the vets next week. 2006/02/15 Update on KittenHi readers...................this is an update on the little lost kitten that we found on the 7th Feb 06. He got through his cat flu illness and is doing really well, almost 100% recovered. He has certainly put on lots of weight as he now has a little round belly. You mention food to him and he comes running at the speed of light. There is still no sign of his owner, its looking more grim of ever reuniting them back together. However, he is happy here and has made himself right at home. We let him out in the garden today for a few hours and he was in his element, he had such a good time and still came back to us at the end of his afternoon playtime. He will be with us just a little bit longer than expected.
I shall give you another update next week. Until then take care all of you!!!
Regards

xxxxx 2006/02/10 Lost KittenHi guys and gals................................I have been run off my feet these past few days. My daughter bought home a lost 12 week old male kitten on Tuesday evening 7th February 2006. He is the same kitten that we saw in our back garden 2 days before finding him by the shops on Tuesday. He began sneezing on Tuesday night but was much worse by wednesday evening so had to the poor little thing to the PDSA vets. He was diagnosed as having 'cat flu' and is now being treated with antibiotics. I'm having to run round the house after him with a tissue for his running nose. Hi is now starting to develop a cough which I hope does not turn into pneumonia as is common in kittens with cat flu. Its recommended that a cat with cat flu should spend an hour a day in a room full of steam to help them breathe. It's also said that placing some vicks vaporub on the cats chin and bedding can help with its breathing. As an alternative I have used olbas oil on its bedding.
I have placed postcards in the local shop windows detailing the lost kitten in hope that its owner will see it and be reunited with the kitten. I will keep you posted on the health of the kitten and let you know if the owner is found. Untill then stay switched on and tuned in.
Take care all of you, speak soon!

xxx 2006/02/07 'C' ProgrammingHi guys n gals..................what a day I've had today, it's been rather constructive to say the least. For weeks I have been working on my first proper 'c' programme. A cashpoint programme (no not a real one, just a simlulator type). Its for my college assignment for a HNC/BSc in computing. |
